Established in 1990, the original company name was Pumps and Services Australia. The business was founded by a German engineering migrant who saw a niche market for engineered vacuum systems. He developed intricate vacuum and hydraulic solutions for a range of industries including water, mining and manufacturing in Australia and overseas. Pumps and Services was also a pioneer in the West Australian fishing industry designing and building an automated vacuum system for the Geraldton Fish Markets to improve the way the fish were removed from the vessel to the wharf for processing.

Since 2000 the company has become more diverse in it's approach and is now able to supply, install and service local and European imported pumps : primarily from Germany and Italy. The company has also become a major supplier of aftermarket pump filters.

In 2008 Pumps and Services Australia became Pump Solutions Australasia.
