AERODRUM

WHERE IT ALL STARTED

Asbestos Fibre Asbestos Fibre

Gland packing has been the most used form of pump and valve sealing for years. Asbestos fibre was originally used for the fabrication of gland packing with outstanding results and has been used for a number of years with great success.

In 1991 asbestos production was banned and all asbestos products were banned from the production lines, leaving a gap in the sealing industry. This gap has been filled by inferior products, none of which have ever been able to match the success of asbestos fibre.

Seven years ago a discovery was made, which enabled the bonding of different materials which was previously not possible, This created a leap in packing manufacture and has subsequently led to an advance in modern technology that has surpassed asbestos and is now the benchmark in packing manufacture.

This new technology has been advanced even further and has subsequently been manufactured with elasticity properties, which now allow the packing to seal effectively with less pressure being applied to it.

The new technology has been developed into a ground breaking type of non-compression packing, which has numerous advantages, these will be illustrated further on in the presentation.

This latest technology is known as Aero Drum Packing, which is taking the world by storm.
